My SD-BM105 breadmaker arrived from Japan two weeks before the estimated delivery date, which was good. Unfortunately, when we opened the box on Christmas, we found directions for use only in Japanese, nothing in English. When I queried the shipper for English operating instructions and recipes, I received a short reply that there was no operators manual in English. I tried to find an English operators manual on-line with no luck and finally called Panasonic North America, who informed me that the breadmaker model I had ordered was only for Japanese operators (the instructions, labels, LCD displays, etc. where only in Japanese). Panasonic informed me that there were similar models available in English but recommended I return the SD-BM105 model to the third-party shipper. I've attempted to do that but am receiving broken-English instructions that my AMEX account will be refunded the purchase price but it appears the shipper does not want me to return the item. This did not make sense to me so I've asked the shipper for further clarification. I am not sure why Amazon is using a third-party vendor in Japan to ship a product to the U.S. that only can be understood by Japanese operators.
