I would first like to state that I purchased this replacement part with great hesitation due to the several negative reviews here on Amazon. Still, I didn't want to dispose of the entire blender, so I decided to purchase the screw cap. After a dozen uses, the cap remains 100% intact without any defects, cracks, chipping, or damage whatsoever. I'm beginning to speculate as to why the previous reviewers have experienced cracking with their replacement caps. Here is my evaluation:
* The o-ring that fits securely on the inside of the cap MUST be present during use. Using the blender without the o-ring inserted correctly means that the cap WILL experience extreme friction during use and WILL crack. (Note: This replacement cap does NOT come with an o-ring. SAVE your o-ring, and dispose ONLY of the damaged cap.
* Do NOT screw the cap on too tightly! This is a plastic cap that will EASILY break if overexerted. Twist the cap (with o-ring correctly inserted) onto the container until SNUG. If you feel resistance, unscrew the cap, re-adjust the o-ring, and carefully maneuver the cap onto the glass container, turning slowly until snug.
* Do NOT wash the CAP in your dishwasher! I repeat, do NOT wash your replacement cap in any dishwashing machine. Wash ONLY the glass container in the dishwasher. All other parts should be hand washed periodically, or after each use. Exposure to extreme heat in a dishwasher WILL subject the replacement cap to potential damage!
Alright, did you catch all of that? 1) Correctly install cap WITH o-ring, 2) Gently turn the cap onto the glass container until SNUG, and 3) Wash ONLY the glass container in your dishwashing machine, and NEVER the complimentary parts.
If you strictly follow these key points, then I'm confident that you will be satisfied with your purchase.

I was happy with the blender for a while then the stupid ring broke, leaving a ton of berry juice on my kitchen floor. Yes, the cheap plastic hit me. But it ain't so cheap to replace it. You do the math
11.5$ + tax is most than 25% of the original cost of the blender, then it will break again because remember it is cheap plastic... and they advertise it's an original piece (yup the same cXXp you bought in the first place)
My advice - Find a good blender and buy it once... Don't throw good money after bad money.

I managed to damage my screw cap and could not use my beloved blender. Ordered this replacement and it is a perfect fit and as solid as the old one. I am back in business making my power drinks again! Thanks!
