Economical Yet BEWARE
By A Reader
I had the older Hamilton Beach immersion model (Turbo Twister) and it lasted for many years. The only problem with that one was the plastic shaft eventually cracked. For Christmas this year I asked for the fancy Bamix hand mixer, but I took it back after a month. The Bamix is extremely heavy (the website says 2lbs but it's at least 7), didn't blend any better than the Turbo Twister, and because you have to change the blades out I was always putting my fingers on them but forgetting to unplug it: potential Emergency Room tragedy!
After web-shopping for weeks, I settled on getting this HB 59765 model with a stainless blending shaft. This blender is lightweight and inexpensive and it does the job like my old one. I didn't think I wanted or needed the included mini-chopper, but it has turned out to be very handy.**see update** The chopper is actually fairly large, probably 5 or so inches tall and wide. Like the older model, the accessories twist on and off very easily and you never need to touch the blade. Since I just got it, I can't say how long it will last, but my previous HB blender never failed. If you are looking for something to blend ice cubes or frozen fruit, however, you need a real countertop blender. No stick blender is meant for that.
UPDATE - After three months of light use, the fitting that holds the chopper lid to the blade shaft split in half and began spraying plastic shavings into the food. BEWARE Hamilton Beach "customer service." You must fight them for the most basic standards of commercial interaction. As of now, they can't replace the part - let's hope it's because it was taken out of production to be redesigned for safety and reliability. So far, the actual blender is still in one piece and working. After you wash the whisk, shake the water out of its base.

Poor performance and quality
By Vegan Bunny
I purchased this Hamilton Beach hand blender as a replacement for my 200 watt Braun whose motor died suddenly after a few years of perfect use. The Hamilton Beach does a poor job of pureeing soups, which is my main use for it. While the Braun easily pureed an entire pot of lentil soup in mere seconds, the Hamilton Beach leaves chunks and takes several minutes of pulsing to even remotely puree. Further, the chopping bowl attachment has begun to leave bits of black plastic in the food that I chop. I can't even chop an onion without little black plastic bits eroding away into my food. Poor quality and poor performance overall.
Due to my distaste for the Hamilton Beach blender, I purchased a GE hand blender at the same price point and there is a world of difference in the performance. I just pureed a large can of diced tomatoes in about 25 seconds - a task that the Hamilton Beach took a few minutes to accomplish. Avoid this junk and do some research on better quality hand blenders.

Simply the worst blender I have ever used.
By Victor Johnson
This blender is just plain bad. I will soon post a video review comparing this to another brand blender I just received from Amazon.
Just stay away from this junk. It is really loud and then vibrates plus the speed buttons are very uncomfortable to use. I tried it several times with the whisk attachment simply making an omelette with just plain eggs. After a few minutes the bottom part of the blender where the engine is located almost burned my hand plus you could smell sort of burning insulation and on the top of it was shaking out of balance. Everything looks cheap about this device and the quality of plastic and metal is inferior. I decided to spend 25 more dollars in order a blender by Kitchen Aid. When it arrived I was simply amazed with a great quality of materials and user experience this new blender would deliver. It has three speeds, it is quiet, comfortable, and stays cool even with the highest speed settings.
Bottom line, do not waste your time ordering the Hamilton Beach blender and just simply spend few extra bucks on Kitchen Aid and it will be totally worth it. Especially if you think in the long term and want to have a nice and elegant device for your kitchen.
