1A major design flaw on the part of KitchenAid
By David H. Leung
We have gone through 4 blender jars over the course of one year of ownership of the blender. We only use it to make smoothie daily (without putting in ice). We found that the gasket will fail and cause leakage very quickly if you use the "Liquefy" speed for longer than 30 seconds each time. To compensate for this design flaw and preserve the life of the gasket, one has to blend the fruits multiple times, each has to be in short duration. We reported this to KitchenAid, but the reply seems to be "it is what it is". How sad? We love other KitchenAid products but certainly not this one =(

4Expect it to last a year, then break.
By David
This is my third pitcher for my KitchenAid KSB560OB 5-Speed 56-Ounce Blender, Onyx Black since I bought it two years ago. It's a great blender (albeit loud), and if you consider there is a $30/yr 'fee' to keep replacing the pitcher it's a pretty decent deal.

These pitchers are great while they last, but they will break. Just expect it to happen and you won't be disappointed :)

Edit 06/19/2013: My current pitcher has lasted over a year now. Before blending, make sure the pitcher is securely connecting to the motor (no weird diagonal wiggles), and put pressure on the lid while you are blending. I have a feeling that most breaks have been caused by strong torquing that wiggles to pitcher at a bad angle and cracks the plastic where the blades spin. Enjoy!

2KitchenAid Blender.
By David
KitchenAid Blender is the best on the market. It has one major problem. The blender's jar starts to leak, within a week or a # of months. The Jar that I just bought, started to leak by the third time I used it.
