Surprising
By vanigen
I was surprised how loud and violent the single serve blending was. I used spinach, frozen berries, flax seed, cocoa, coconut water, sunflower seeds, stevia, vanilla extract, piece of banana...and man, is was noisy. It would alternate between a good hum and a vibrating racket when holding the single serve button. Yes, you must hang out with your machine and hold the button down to blend.
I bought this to replace my nutribullet, which wore out in three months. the nutribullet definitely blended the above drink much smoother. it wasn't perfect, but a lot better than the ninja. flax seeds were getting stuck on the blades of the ninja, not cutting thru them. I wouldn't call the above drink "smooth" when made with the ninja.
perhaps I got a bum unit. I'm not sure. when I cleaned the single serve with water and a drop of dish soap, it sounded much better. much more like a smooth operating machine. putting a load on it tho made it into a rattle trap. so I will be returning after 3 short days of use. I don't feel like this unit will last. and it doesn't perform good enough for me to downgrade my smoothie experience to a more chunky form.
Next step I suppose is a vitamix. I need something that will last, because my wife and I each make a drink every day. I think that kind of use calls for a professional machine. if you don't need that type of durability, I would recommend the nutribullet. just take care of it and don't over fill it and it should last a while. it works well.

chop chop your food prep time
By Deborah Anderson
it blended, chopped and pureed its way into my heart !! Great combo so it takes up less space. the option to do individual smoothies is fab when you need a fast, nutritious meal during a long commute. cleans easy. its especially nice that you don't have to take the whole thing apart to clean it, the blade, the bowl, the lid, thats it. No little gasket things that get stuck in your garbage disposal. The only downside, I hate to call it that, you have to chop up stuff like kale a bit more or anything really fibrous. It is not a juicer. Instead you get all the fiber and the juice. I just love it. If it does not continue to work well, i can just take it back to Costco, snap !!!
